Alfa Romeo Carlo Chiti Concept

Independent designer Marco Procaccini has come up with a new concept study for a modern day Alfa Romeo sports coupe with a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. The study is named Carlo Chiti after the Italian racing car and engine designer, who was best known for his work at Alfa Romeo's motorsports division.
Procaccini says the compact size and lightweight coupe has seating for two and measures 4,050mm long, 1,830mm wide, and 1,250mm tall.
While the Alfa Romeo Carlo Chiti study was completed just before we learned about the Fiat Group's deal to build the Alfa Romeo Spider on the next Mazda MX-5, the concept is very close in dimensions to the current generation of the Japanese maker's roadster.
Given that, the 4C Coupe will be a more hardcore and pricier mid-engine sports car, we cannot find a reason why Alfa would not want to expand the future Spider's range with a coupe model to battle the Toyota, Scion and Subaru triplets. What do you think?

Watch a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV Take a Plunge in a Lake

A Chevrolet Tahoe driver watched his full-size SUV that was pulling a trailer with a boat dip into a lake not once but twice! A bystander began filming the incident when the owner of the Tahoe was sitting on the vehicle's roof waiting for help, which arrived shortly after when another driver tossed a…ski rope and tow strap.
After connecting the rope and strap on the Chevy, the other vehicle began to haul in the Tahoe. The whole process seemed to be going well until the rope and strap broke off sending the Tahoe back into the lake for a second time.
YouTube user Gotyourgear said of the incident:

"Chevy Tahoe goes into lake. The audio says the car was left in reverse. That was said on the spot before I knew the details. Tahoe owner said the truck was in park. Video starts with the Tahoe coming out the first time.

A nice passerby hooks up a ski rope and a tow strap to pull him out. As soon as it is pulled out the rope breaks and it goes right back in as seen at 1:10 in the video. It made for a crappy day for this fellow and his wife.

Thank goodness the family wasn't in the car and nobody was seriously hurt. The guy who owns the Tahoe was treated for hypothermia. The Chevy Tahoe was totalled, as you can guess. Be careful out there."

Evidently, you can find many things wrong about this incident including that the driver should have opened the Tahoe's doors to let out the water as soon as he touched land, but perhaps the most important thing to note is the fact that we saw several people standing right beside the rope and tow strap – which is a very big no-no for safety reasons.

Datsun 280ZX Rat Rod With Gas Turbine Powered

Normally, we are not in favor of customizing classic cars but this time we are going to make an exception, first because there are still plenty of Datsun 280ZX coupes out on the road and second because this conversion is truly cool and unique. You may notice the Knight Rider-style hub caps or the matte black finish and those rocket inspired (or is that Madonna's Vogue bra?) headlamp replacements, but what really sets apart this 1983 Datsun 280ZX is well hidden under its bonnet.
What the owner of this car did is to replace the original straight-six gasoline engine with a Garret GTP Gas Turbine Engine!
"The stock straight 6 banger was removed and a Garret GTP series turboshaft engine moved into the neighborhood," explains the owner. "The engine is a mild and tamed horsepowered unit, producing 210 shp. Not overly aggressive or fuel hungry yet gets the job done. Sounds like 1000 hp and people will just nod and smile no matter what you tell them."

The gas turbine-powered Datsun 280ZX is listed on eBay for $16,000.
