Renault has dropped a slew of photos of its updated five-seater Scenic and 7-seater Grand Scenic minivans as the company prepares to launch the range across Europe. Named the Scenic and Grand Scenic Collection 2012, the regular and long-wheelbase versions of Europe's best-selling compact MPV enter the new model year with revised front-end looks and upgraded cabin trim and upholstery finishes while the French carmaker also added two new engines to the range.
The newcomers are the Energy TCe 115, a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol unit with 115HP and 190Nm (140lb-ft) of peak torque, and the diesel Energy dCi 110, a 1.5-liter inline-four producing 110HP and 260Nm (191.8 lb-ft), which is the most fuel efficient engine in the range returning a combined fuel consumption of 4.1lt/100km (57.4mpg US or 68.9mpg UK).
The most powerful petrol engine is a 2.0-liter unit with 140HP linked to a CVT, while on the diesel front, it's the dCi 160, a 2.0-liter engine with 160HP offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Prices and availability are to be announced within the next few weeks.
