Mercedes-Benz AMG SL with Special Edition in New York

This year marks the AMG brand's 45th birthday and to commemorate the milestone at the New York Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz introduced a special anniversary edition of the V12-powered SL 65 AMG roadster, of which only 45 will be produced worldwide with first deliveries in the U.S. planned for November. What makes the SL 65 AMG "45th ANNIVERSARY" stand out from its lesser sibling is a host of bespoke features and parts starting with the unique matte grey finish called "designo magno graphite".
The exterior package continues with a carbon fiber kit that includes the cross strut in the front apron, the exterior mirrors and the spoiler lip, while the engine cover is also made from the same material.
The look is rounded out by the black chrome plating of the quad tailpipes and the special forged wheels painted in titanium grey with high-sheen rim flange and matt finish that are shod in tires size 255/35 R 19 at the front and 285/30 R 20 at the rear.
There's more going on inside where AMG designers fitted the top SL with a two-tone leather interior in titanium grey pearl and ginger beige. The center sections of the seats, door panels and roof lining feature a diamond pattern theme, while other highlights include the matt carbon fibre trim and the "45th Anniversary" badge on the ashtray.
The special edition version of the SL comes with an extensive range of standard-fit appointments including but not limited to, the Driving Assistance package Plus, AMG ceramic high-performance compound brake system and a higher end audio system.
Power is provided by the same 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine with 621hp (630PS) and a peak torque of 1,000Nm (737 lb-ft) that you'll find under the hood of the regular SL 65 AMG.

New Dodge SRT Viper Reveal

While we're waiting for SRT to collect 2013 Facebook likes so we can see one more teaser image of the new Viper, the Chrysler Group brand has informed us about the live page on its DriverSRT website, where it will broadcast the reveal from the New York Auto Show on Wednesday, April 4. The web page also includes a picture of the new Viper covered in a white sheet that outlines the shape of the sports car.
Up until now and with the exception of the Hot Wheel die cast model leaks, SRT has only given us vague glimpses of the new Viper, which is expected to continue using its trademark V10 engine, albeit in a more refined form and with the help of stability control system for the first time to keep its tail in order.

Ram Teases 2013MY 1500 Truck with Ambiguous Photo At the New York Auto Show

What you see here is a craftily cropped image of the new 2013 Ram 1500 truck that will receive its world premiere at the 2012 New York International Auto Show next Thursday. Ram didn't name the truck in its press release, but we already know that the company is planning to show the new 1500 in the Big Apple and that it will debut the firm's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing around 280-horses connected to an 8-speed automatic.
The new powerplant will replace the current model's outdated 210hp 3.7-liter V6 linked to a 4-speed automatic.
The Detroit automaker said it will build anticipation for the truck with a new campaign called "A Giant Awaits" that will utilize social networks such as Twitter and Facebook to spread the word around by publishing one teaser photo per day through April 4.

2013 GMC Terrain, gets New Denali Variant and a 301HP 3.6-liter V6

About three years ago, GMC launched the Terrain as its entry-level crossover model positioned right under the Acadia. Now it’s time for GM's truck division to shake things up in the Terrain's range with the presentation of the 2013 model ahead of its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show in April.
There are two things you need to know about the 2013 Terrain: the first is that GMC has replaced the current model's 3.0-liter V6 with a newer 3.6-liter V6 unit, and the second, that it has introduced an upscale Denali variant into the Terrain's lineup for the very first time.
Beginning with the new 3.6-liter V6 that will be available on both the regular Terrain and the luxed-up Terrain Denali, it produces 301-horsepower and 272 lb.-ft. (369 Nm) of torque, compared to 264hp and 222 lb-ft of the 3.0-liter V6.
Despite the increase in power and torque, GM says that it expects the new Terrain to deliver fuel economy equal to its predecessor (FWD: 17mpg city and 24mpg highway).
The 182hp 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine continues unchanged for the 2013MY and will be offered on the Denali version as well. All-wheel drive is available as an option for both engines.
The Terrain will become the eighth model in GMC's current lineup to be offered with the upscale Denali trim level.
“Denali is growing fast,” said Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of GMC Marketing. “With seven different models, sales for this brand within a brand increased 79 percent from 2010 to 2011. With this in mind, the decision to create a more-upscale Terrain was an easy one.”
So what does the Denali grade bring to the 2013 Terrain? For starters, there's an exterior package that adds bespoke 18-inch wheels for the 4-cylinder model and 19-inch for the V6, a chrome grille and satin chrome accents, different headlamp and taillight designs, plus body colored fascias and rocker panels.
Inside, the Denali models feature special soft touch Jet Black leather that lines the seats and door inserts and is contrasted by red accent stitching, which is also present on the dashboard, embossed Denali logos on the seats, mahogany wood trim accents on the dash and the steering wheel, plus eight-way power driver and passenger seat.
The Denali models come as standard with GMC's new infotainment system featuring a reconfigurable home screen and a programmable power liftgate.
The 2013 GMC Terrain and Terrain Denali will go on sale later this year. Pricing has not yet been announced.
