BMW Brings M Performance Parts for New 3-Series and 5-Series Sedans

Like all carmakers or any other company for that matter, BMW would like to be the one that customers go to when it comes to aftermarket products. While the Bavarian automaker has been offering Performance Parts for years, we will now come to know the components under the M Performance Parts brand name. Today, BMW announced the availability of a new lineup of M Performance Parts for the latest 2012 3-Series and 2011-2012 5-Series sedans in the U.S. market. The range comprises chassis, aerodynamic, cockpit and powertrain components.
Starting with the wheels, the M Performance Parts catalogue includes 20-inch forged alloy rims for the latest 3-Series and 5-Series models, which the company says are 1kg (2.4 pounds) lighter per wheel than the same size standard wheel.
To improve braking performance, there is a Brembo big-brake kit with painted calipers in red, yellow or orange, and sports brake discs measuring 370 x 30 mm on the front axle and 345 x 24 mm on the rear axle.
For the six-cylinder turbocharged 335i and 535i sedans, BMW offers a sports exhaust system complete with two chrome-plated 80 mm tailpipes.
On the outside, the M Performance Parts catalogue includes high-gloss black kidney grilles and carbon fiber mirror caps for both the 3- and 5-Series models, racing stripes for the 3-Series, and a carbon fiber rear deck lid spoiler for the 5 Series sedan.
There is a variety of interior goodies such as a flat-bottom, motorsports-inspired, Alcantara steering wheel for the 3-Series, a seven piece carbon fiber and Alcantara interior trim set for both sedans, and a carbon fiber gear shift knob and selector lever for vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions.
BMW notes that all parts come with a factory warranty.

BMW 3-Series F30 Performance Program By AC Schnitzer in Geneva

Joining ABT Sportsline at next month's Geneva Motor Show is another well-known tuning company from Germany, BMW-specialist AC Schnitzer. The German tuner will use the Swiss auto show to present a variety of styling and performance parts for the new 2012 BMW 3-Series sedan, which is also known by its internal codename F30.
AC Schnitzer's program for BMW's bestseller will eventually include power upgrades for both diesel and petrol engines, sport exhaust and suspension systems, a ground effects kit with front and rear aprons, side skirts and a boot lid spoiler, a bespoke steering wheel and gear shifters, and aluminum trim for the interior.
Of course, no AC Schnitzer tune would be complete without a choice of alloy wheel designs, which in the new 3-Series sedan's case will include four different types of rims in sizes from 18- to 20-inches.
More information on AC Schnitzer's offerings for the BMW model will be released at the Geneva motor show in March.

Mechanical Synfonica is an Ode to Orchestra with a Pinch of Good-looking Women

While fast cars and beautiful women are a match made in heaven, producer Alexander Sperr and director Daniel Michaelis took a slightly different turn with their latest clip by incorporating the classic sounds from a symphony orchestra into the mix.
The cars featured in the video are a modified Audi S5 and a BMW 3-Series [E92]. While we can't say that we're too enthusiastic about the editing of the video which was allegedly shot at the Stelvio Pass in Italy, the clip is worth a few minutes of your time. You can check it out after the break.
