First Picture of Kia Cee'd Station Wagon

This is the first official image of the new generation of the Kia Cee'd SW or Station Wagon that will be formally introduced alongside the five-door hatchback model of the series at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday. Despite the lengthened rear end that adds some extra space to the boot, from what we can tell by looking at this single picture, the estate variant seems to retain the elegant lines of the hatchback model, with which it shares the same 2,650mm (104.3-in.) wheelbase.
While the South Korean automaker has not yet published full details, the two models will likely share the same engine lineup comprising up to five diesel and gasoline engines with improved fuel economy and CO2 figures over the outgoing Cee'd, along with a choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
The new Cee'd series will be built at Kia's manufacturing plant in Zilina, Slovakia, with European sales to start before summer.

New Kia Cee'd Station Wagon to Debut at the Geneva

The five-door hatchback version (pictured above) of Kia's second generation Cee'd model won't be standing alone at the South Korean firm's Geneva Motor Show booth next week, Offgae has learned. According to our sources, Kia will also host the world premiere of the estate version featuring an elongated rear end that will further increase its boot capacity offering an additional advantage over the hatch.
Both the hatchback and the station wagon variants of the 2012 Cee'd ride on the same 2,650mm long wheelbase and will be offered with up to five diesel and gasoline engines with improved fuel economy and CO2 figures.
In Europe, the Cee'd range competes in the mainstream section of the highly popular C-segment with rivals such as the Opel Astra and the Peugeot 308.

All-New Kia Cee'd Hatchback Including the First Shots of the Interior

The all-new Kia Cee'd will make its world premiere at the 82nd Geneva International Auto Salon in March but the South Korean automaker wants us to get a better view of its VW Golf rival with the release of another set of photos, which include the very first pictures of its interior. The car's overall appearance is in line with Kia's latest crop of models and especially the Optima sedan. This is even more evident inside with Kia promising a more premium look and feel, higher perceived quality and enhanced driving position ergonomics.
The dashboard layout features a driver-orientated fascia with the main switchgear positioned towards the driver.
Kia has not yet announced precise dimensions but it said that the new Cee'd is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, while retaining the same wheelbase.
The engine lineup has not been confirmed but given that the Cee'd is a sister model to Hyundai's new i30, we expect it to be offered with the same 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter diesel and gasoline units at launch in Europe.

We're being bombarded today with news from both sides of the Atlantic as along with all the world premieres from the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, for some reason, many automakers are also previewing their debuts for the upcoming 2012 Geneva Salon that takes place in March. After Infiniti, Kia also dropped a single picture of one of its world debuts, the brand new cee'd hatchback.
The second generation of Kia's entry in the highly popular C-segment is aimed squarely against the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane and Ford Focus.
Seen here in five-door trim, the compact hatchback sports a new design with styling elements from the Optima and an angrier front end with comparatively large headlamps – apparently, the latest BMW 1-Series started a new trend…
Kia has not yet divulged any other details on the new cee’d, but the Korean company said that the five-door model will be available across Europe from the second quarter of 2012 with UK deliveries expected to start from June.
